Our story is one of two lucky people who took a chance on a first date at Pint Sized, a local bar, in Albany. It went as follows…
Endless fawning over Fern the poodle and Nellie the cat. Check.
A shared fondness for cheap beer. Check.
Love for “Hit Clips”, the nostalgic music player. Check mate.
And that is how the spark was set.
From there, it moved to more frequent dates filled with laughs and fun. These were followed by meetings of friends and families on both sides. As our fondness for one another grew, our lives became more entwined.
We went on never-ending quests to find the best bagel, diner, and soft serve ice cream in the capital region. The winners? Broad Street Bagels, Dan’s Place 2, and Jim’s Tastee Freez, respectively with the latter being contentious.
We also traveled to Wisconsin, Maine, North Adams, and Portugal and discovered that not only did we share incredible experiences, but we made excellent traveling partners.
To put that all more simply: We fell in love.
Next steps? We moved in together. We created a wonderful home in Downtown Albany. We supported one another in new jobs, promotions, and various hardships. We lived. We laughed. We loved (TM).
So much so that Rob decided to get Caitlyn under Loch and Quay*. He planned a marriage proposal abroad in Morocco. Despite waiting 7 days into the 10-day long trip to propose, she said YES! So, under the beautiful blue streets of Chefchaouen, our loves journey advanced to the next level.
What came is next is a new adventure: a move to Chicago to see what fun and excitement that can bring. Three plus years strong and excited as ever for what the future holds.
That brings us to the wedding and the opportunity to share our mutual joy with you all at MASS MoCA on 8/23/2025. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for unending love and support through our history. We are genuinely very excited to celebrate our continuing story with you.
*For those unsure of the intended pun, Loch and Quay is pronounced (lock and key). It is the name of the bar that we lived above for two plus years in Albany, and it is near and dear to our hearts. Let the chuckling begin.
